Dr. Wendy E. Emerson
Dr. Wendy Emerson attended Danvers public schools, and received her Bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Maine. She attended Tufts Veterinary School, graduating in 1985. She is an active member of many national veterinary groups, including the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Animal Hospital Association. She has been very active in organized veterinary medicine, and is a past president of the Veterinary Association of the North Shore and the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Emerson’s interests include avian and exotic pet medicine, surgery and dentistry in all species. She currently resides in Topsfield, with her husband, stepdaughter, two dogs, three birds, one rabbit and a box turtle.
Dr. Elisabeth A.F. Lynch
Dr. Lynch graduated from Tufts University in 1996, and has been practicing veterinary medicine on the North Shore for the past five and a half years. She loves dogs and cats, and also has a special interest in avian and exotic medicine and surgery. Dr. Lynch studied veterinary acupuncture and completed an International Veterinary Acupuncture Society approved course at Tufts University in 2004. In her spare time, Dr. Lynch also works at Nevin’s Farm, a division of the MSCPA, loves gardening, and spending time with her husband Mark, and two dogs, Bart and Lena.
Dr. Rachel Illingworth
Dr. Rachel Illingworth has been helping out at the Putnam Veterinary Clinic since 2006. Growing up on a dairy farm in Nova Scotia developed her keen interest in animals. She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College, and is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and has practiced in the United States since 1993. In her spare time, when not pursuing her corgi Abby, she may be found trying to hit small white balls into little round holes, or traveling with family and friends.
Connie Orcutt, DVM, Dipl. ABVP (Avian and Exotic Companion Mammals)
Connie Orcutt is a 1991 graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine (now the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University). After graduation, she completed a one-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery followed by a two-year residency in Avian and Exotic Pet Medicine, both at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Shortly after finishing her residency in 1994, she was recruited to develop an avian and exotic service at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital (now the Angell Animal Medical Center) in Boston. She was appointed Section Head of the Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine Service in 2001 and remained in that position until she left Angell in early 2011. Dr. Orcutt is board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in both Avian (1995; recertified 2003) and Exotic Companion Mammal (2009) Practices. She has been the Senior Associate Editor for the "Journal of Avian Medicine and Surgery" since 1998 and has contributed to numerous textbooks and journals on exotic pet medicine. She has lectured throughout the United States and internationally. She loves coming home to her daughter, Lia (Min Min), and their two guinea pigs, Popcorn and Candy.
Dianne Corliss
Dianne recently became the Office Manager at Putnam Veterinary Clinic in September of 2010. She graduated in 1997 from the Veterinary Technician program at Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute and obtained her certification. She has worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician for 16 years at Cape Ann area veterinary hospitals and resides in Gloucester with her family. She has a hound dog named Memphis, who she recently adopted, and two cats.
Daniel Baptista
Daniel was born in New York and grew up in Brazil, where he received his Veterinarian Degree, his Masters of Science in Veterinary Clinic and Surgery and practiced Zoo and Wildlife medicine. He joined the Putnam Veterinary Clinic in 2010 as a Veterinary Technician, and is currently working towards obtaining his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in the United States.
Tracy Ingoldsby C.V.T.
Tracy is a Certified Veterinary Technician with over 18 years of experience in the veterinary field. She has worked in both large and small animal practices and has worked with Dr. Emerson since 2003. Tracy specializes in positive obedience training and is a member of the APDT, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She has an extensive background in horse training and eventing, as well as canine obedience training. Most recently, she is teaching group training classes here at the clinic, along with in-home private lessons. Tracy is the proud parent of Bria (German shepherd), Sammy (Terrier Mix), Devin (cat), and Mitchell (her horse).
Colleen Rosa
Colleen has worked as a Veterinary Technician at Putnam Veterinary Clinic since 2004. She is a graduate of Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute, where she obtained her Associate degree in their Veterinary Technician Program. She likes working with all kinds of animals and enjoys the variety of pets she gets to see on a daily basis at the clinic. Currently Colleen doesn’t have any pets of her own, but she honors the memory of her beloved Golden Retriever, Casper.
Danielle Shaw
Danielle joined the Putnam Veterinary Clinic in 2007 as a receptionist and is now working as a technician assistant. She is studying at North Shore Community College to pursue an Associate Degree in Animal Science She enjoys photography, kayaking and watching the local Stock Car races, and she occasionally races her own car too!
Heidi Soffron CVT
Heidi joined Putnam Veterinary Clinic in 2008 as a technician assistant, and she has finished her studies at North Shore Community College and recently passed her certification test. She lives in Ipswich at Wolf Hollow with her husband and his family and spends her weekends helping run the family business. They have three rescued dogs: Clyde- a Pit Bull/Hound mix, Katy- a Staffordshire terrier and Olivia- a Boxer/Pit Bull mix. You can find them at Appleton Farms or Cranes beach playing with their dogs on the weekends!
Jamie Walton
Jamie joined Putnam Veterinary Clinic in September 2009 as a receptionist. She was soon promoted to lead receptionist. She has a degree in Human Massage Therapy and some day hopes to get her degree in Canine and Equine Massage. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, vacationing in Pittsburg, NH, going out on the boat in the summer, and also enjoys going to country concert. Jamie has been showing Morgan horses for over 18 years, and she has had her horse “Digger” for 13 years. She also has a Boxer puppy (Morgan) who is a little over a year old who does everything with her!
Gianna Riccio
Gianna began volunteering at the clinic in September of 2010. She has subsequently joined our staff as a veterinary assistant, and she is attending North Shore Community College to pursue an Associate Degree in Animal Science. Her interests include all types of animals as well as dancing and spending time with friends and family.
