Putnam Veterinary Clinic Canine Training For Dogs of All Ages!
Our classes are led by our own Certified Veterinary Technician, Tracy A. Ingoldsby, who is a member of the Veterinary Behavior Technicians Association and member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).

The First Puppy Class is for the new babies in your family. Extremely helpful for first time dog parents, and for owners who could use a refresher on having a young dog in the home. This class is one hour a week for six weeks, focusing on creating a strong, respectful connection between you and your new dog, socialization, basic commands and fun!
Once a dog has completed the First Puppy Class, we recommend continuing the education process while your dog is still an adolescent, with our Graduate Class. The class gives you the opportunity to continue the work you have already introduced, and becomes more focused and intricate than the Puppy Class, bringing the basic commands to their next levels. Owners who are interested in pursuing this course must have completed our puppy class. Graduate is also one hour a week for six weeks.
Our Adult Dog Basic Manners is open to dogs of any age! We at Putnam Veterinary Clinic believe in the value and benefits of educating your dog throughout your lives together. It is important that your dog listens to your commands always, and many dogs love the feeling of working and pleasing their loved ones, which makes it a positive experience for the dog too! The Basic Manners course can be a refresher for any dog and owner who have not practiced together in a while; great for owners that have recently added to their family with a new adult dog; even if you just want to share the bonding experience of learning together with your best friend. Basic Manners is one hour a week for six weeks, and can truly help even those “tricky” dogs!
We are currently organizing and scheduling other classes with more specific focuses, such as Come When Called, which may help with concerns you have for your specific dog.
